SURVIVAL AID
YENANGYAUNG VULNERABLES
(SUPPORTED by the Australian Anglo-Burmese Society)
SURVIVAL AID assists:
A. Needy people who suffer from HIV , AIDS and their families.
B. Family members left destitute when the working family member has died and dependant
children and grandparents are left with NO Income.
This new undertaking to support  Survival Aid, Yenangyaung, Myanmar,  is to provide assistance to the most vulnerable orphaned children who have lost their parents from HIV, AIDS and their guardians who are mostly grandparents.
Assistance is given by sponsorship of individual families, a commitment by a dedicated group of  members who have pledged their  assistance to 12 families of 32 children and 13 guardians.

Sponsors donate AUD11.00 per person per month in each family, paid quarterly.
(For a family of three, it would cost AUD 33.00 per month or AUD 99.00 per quarter)
These donations provide monthly rations of basic food items.
Additional sums have been sent towards building new homes for those families living in derelict buildings. Homes in better condition are renovated.
AUD 200.00 donation builds a family a new home.

At the moment the Society sponsors a family as an organizational sponsorship.  This family comprises of a blind grandmother,  her widowed daughter, who is HIV positive and the mother of five children. A family of seven persons was too large for one sponsorship and a decision was made at the Management Committee meeting that the Society would undertake responsibility for care of this large family.

Number of persons supported by Sponsors and the Society to-date are Children - 34,  Adults -  15.   Total : 49 individuals.

As a not for profit community based organisation that is non-funded, the Society’s charitable work is very dependent on the donations received from members and the  community who support our fund-raising efforts.

Today the Society has grown beyond just social activities to a caring organisation that works to provide assistance to the needy. Hence, charity work is now very much the focus of the Society.

The society calls upon its members and other Anglo-Burmese and well-wishers from around the world to HELP it to continue to assist these people in need.

FUNDS are also needed to assist in the building of:
  1. An Orphanage to house the children whose parents have died from the infectious disease.
  2. HOME for the AGED for those left destitute when their dependant adult child has died from HIV, AIDS.

DONATIONS to this very worthy cause are sought and much appreciated.

Sponsorships for individual families are most welcome.

Sponsor a personCut in each family for AUD11.00 per month,  paid quarterly.

ALL DONATIONS MADE TO THE SOCIETY FOR ITS CHARITIES PROJECTS ARE GIVEN 100% TO THE RECIPIENTS.
