SAFETY AND SECURITY REBATE FOR WA SENIORS CARD HOLDERS
Hon Robyn McSweeney MLC, Minister for Child Protection; Community Services;Women's Interest; Seniors and Volunteering; recently
announced another major project as part of the state governments commitment to a Better Deal for seniors. The Safety and Security
Rebate scheme delivers WA Seniors Card holders a rebate of up to $200 per household towards installing or buying home security
devices. It is a $10 million investment in seniors wellbeing and promoting a safe and active retirement.
If you have a WA Seniors Card and have not already made a claim for the Safety and Security Rebate, you are eligible. You
can only make one claim per household (i.e. if you are living with several Seniors Card holders, only one card holder can
apply for the rebate). Renters need to get landlord approval before buying and installing any device. You cant make a claim
if you live in a communal arrangement such as an aged care facility.
Seniors Safety and Security Rebate claim forms are available at Australia Post outlets. Forms are also available from the
Seniors Card Centre, Level 1, Albert Facey House, 469 Wellington Street, Perth or you can call the Seniors Card Centre on
6217 8855 (metro) or 1800 671 233 (country callers) and ask for a claim form to be posted to you.
The rebate can be used for buying and installing a home alarm system, security screen door, security window screen, security
sensor light and door deadlock.
From the
President's Desk I am proud to be associated with the Australian
Anglo Burmese Society Inc. I believe in the Charitable cause the Society has been involved for many years, supporting and
helping the poor Anglo Burmese and Burmese people in Burma/Myanmar. I am sure my experience as an Administrator will aid me
in my role as President of the Society. I look forward to the challenges ahead and to the betterment of the Society and stay
true to the Charitable cause that the Society is so proudly associated with. Peggy
